Pastoral Counselor/Therapist, MDiv, MST
I am a Pastoral Counselor who works with authenticity, compassion, humor, and faith! My top specialties are grief, spiritual guidance and practice, depression and anxiety, and physical and mental disabilities. I am also interested in working with clients who face mental disorders as well as teens. The most rewarding counseling sessions for me are those that are challenging and then successful.
I have been ordained in the United Church of Christ and have 5 years of counseling experience.
I believe we are all created in the image of God, as such we all have value. Starting from this place, I help clients discover their purpose and gifts, and an ultimate meaning in their lives. I help clients put their problems in a more broad and realistic context, and overcome these problems either through acceptance, persistence, wisdom and love. I am open-meeting need and caring and ready to listen, but I am not afraid to give advice to those who ask for it. I am well versed in tradition and history as well as modern biblical studies and psychology.
I believe we are all on a spiritual journey through life. That we are all called to be “Israelites,” people who wrestle with God as we navigate this journey, and that through love and understanding we can help one another to see the path God has marked out for us. As a Christian, I hold up Jesus as my example and the Bible as my road map. I believe through Jesus, God has shared our human struggles and taught us how to live a righteous life and through his death he showed us the way to conquer fear, sin, and death itself by becoming new creations like Christ.
